Fireflies pricing in 2026: what the free plan gives since September, Pro, Business, Enterprise, and the AI credits on top
By Tudor Bungardean. Published 13 October 2026. Every outside fact read on 13 October 2026.
Fireflies costs $10, $19 or $39 a user a month billed annually, $18 or $29 billed monthly with Enterprise sold on annual terms only, as read on fireflies.ai on 13 October 2026. Fireflies is an AI notetaker: its bot joins Zoom, Google Meet, Teams and Webex, or a Chrome extension and a phone app record without one, and a transcript, a summary and a chat over the meeting follow. Two things changed this year that the price card does not say. Since 1 September 2026 a new free account gets three transcriptions, not unlimited, unless it lets the bot join every meeting automatically; and the clever features on every plan now run on AI credits, which are bought separately and, on a paid plan, upgrade themselves when they run out.
Fireflies plans and prices
| Plan | Billed annually | Billed monthly | Fireflies’ own line |
|---|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | $0 | “For individuals starting out” |
| Pro | $10 | $18 | “For professional individuals and small teams” |
| Business | $19 | $29 | “For fast growing businesses”, marked most popular |
| Enterprise | $39, annual only | Not offered | “For large scale enterprises”; volume discounts above 50 seats |
Every admin or member in the workspace is a billable seat, and removing one lowers the bill from the next cycle without a refund for the current one. Sharing a recap link with someone outside the team is free. The headline prices have not moved since at least January 2025 by the archived copies of the page; what moved is underneath them.
The free plan, as it stands since 1 September 2026
- Three meeting transcriptions by default, five if you signed up through the Chrome extension, ten through the phone app. The help centre’s line: “These limits apply to users who sign up on or after September 1, 2026.” Accounts from before keep what they had.
- Unlimited transcriptions if Auto Join is on, so the bot attends every eligible meeting on your calendar. The “only when I invite fred@fireflies.ai” setting does not qualify.
- 400 minutes of storage. The pricing page says per team, one help article says per seat, another says per user but pooled across the team. It is a total, not a monthly allowance: at the cap new meetings are still captured, and you delete old ones to see them.
- Two hours a meeting, after which the bot leaves on its own; three hours on Business, four on Enterprise.
- 20 AI credits, once, shared by the team and not multiplied by seats. The pricing page says the AI summaries are limited on Free; the help centre says they are unlimited and the summaries never cost credits; the difference is what the credits buy, which is the next section.
- No downloads of transcripts or recordings, no video, three public channels, uploads up to 100 MB and 150 minutes at one credit each.
The archived pricing pages date the squeeze. The free card read “800 mins of storage/seat” from January 2025 until a capture of 6 June 2026 and “400 mins of storage/team” from 3 July 2026. It read “Unlimited transcription” and “Unlimited AI summaries” through 28 August 2026 and “Unlimited transcription*” and “Limited AI summaries” from 3 September. Fireflies published no post about either change; the help centre’s dated line is the only announcement.
What each paid plan adds
| Pro | Business | Enterprise | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Storage | 8,000 minutes a seat, pooled across the team | Unlimited | Unlimited, or your own S3 or Google Cloud bucket |
| Recording length | 2 hours | 3 hours | 4 hours |
| Video | 720p | 720p | 1080p |
| AI credits included, once | 20 | 30 | 50 |
| The additions | Downloads, Personal Assistant, Email Assistant, AI Skills, Voice Agents, a task manager, all integrations | Multi-language calls, conversation intelligence, team analytics, public meeting links, user groups, priority support | SSO and SCIM, audit logs, HIPAA with a signed agreement, custom retention, a transcript-only mode that deletes the audio, a super admin, an account manager, payment by invoice above $10,000 |
| API | 60 a minute, 5,000 a day | 60 a minute per paid seat, pooled, no daily cap | The same, pooled to 2,400 a minute |
The AI credits, which are the second bill
Transcription, summaries and the recap email are never charged in credits; Fireflies says so three times. Everything newer is: AI Skills, the Personal Assistant, Voice Agents, Sales Assist, the Slack assistant, CRM autofill, AskFred in a live call, the soundbites. Credits are “charged per query”, and the help centre calls the pricing dynamic, “depending on the complexity and effort required to generate the output”, so there is no price list per feature. The credits a plan includes arrive once, are pooled for the team, do not grow with seats and do not expire; packs bought on top renew monthly or annually, and the unused ones do not carry over.
| Credits a month | Monthly | Annual, per month |
|---|---|---|
| 50 | $5 | $4 |
| 200 | $20 | $16 |
| 1,000 | $90 | $72 |
| 2,500 | $200 | $160 |
| 5,000 | $375 | $300 |
| 10,000 | $600 | $480 |
Two mechanics to know before anyone on the team presses a credit-consuming button. There is a seven-day AI credits trial that “converts to a paid AI credits subscription at $5/month” when it ends, and the help centre’s worked example of a bill after the Business trial reads “$18.00/month for the Pro plan and $5.00 for AI Credits”. And Auto-Upgrade is on by default: “If paid users run out of credits before their next cycle, Fireflies automatically subscribes them to the next higher AI credits tier to avoid any interruption.” Free users hit a paywall instead. The billing terms promise that changes to the Auto-Upgrade mechanics need your consent; the mechanics themselves do not.
Smaller lines on the same bill: uploads and imports beyond 3,000 minutes a source a month cost $0.01 a minute; renaming the bot from Fred to your company’s name is $5 a month on Pro and Business and free on Enterprise.
Trial, cancellation and refunds
- The seven-day trial is of Business, wants a card, and charges for Business when it ends unless you cancel or downgrade to Pro first. The help centre’s advice is to check that “Today’s charge shows $0.00” on the way in.
- Cancelling drops the workspace to Free at the end of the cycle; the meetings stay. Upgrades bill the prorated difference at once; downgrades wait for the next cycle and turn the unused balance into account credit.
- Refunds, by the refund policy updated this month: on a monthly plan, a full refund within seven days if you have logged three meetings or fewer, prorated otherwise; on an annual plan, a full refund within seven days with twenty meetings or fewer, and no prorated refund after that. Never for AI credits. Another help page says “we don’t offer refunds on subscriptions or AI credit purchases”; the refund policy is the newer page.
Where the recordings live
In the United States by default, on AWS and Google Cloud, with Enterprise able to bring its own bucket. Fireflies says customer data is never used to train AI models and that its AI vendors keep nothing. The only retention rule outside Enterprise is on account closure, when personal information is deleted within 30 days; Enterprise can set auto-deletion from a week to a year on future meetings.
What Fireflies costs a team, per seat
| People on calls | Pro, annual | Business, annual | Business, monthly |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2 | $20 a month | $38 a month | $58 a month |
| 4 | $40 a month | $76 a month | $116 a month |
| 8 | $80 a month | $152 a month | $232 a month |
How Castan prices the same calls
Castan is an AI that builds and runs a company with its owner, who owns everything it makes; the meeting assistant is one part of that. The price is per workspace, whoever is in it: the free plan captures one hour of calls a month, Founding is $29 a month with five hours for everyone in the workspace, and the plans above it include ten, forty and a hundred hours, with a pack of ten more for $39 that never expires. The bot joins Google Meet, Zoom and Microsoft Teams, every attendee receives the recap with a share page, the record of the call is kept beside the company’s mail, invoices and promises, and from Founding up the language of the call is detected rather than chosen. What a plan includes is written on the plan: the questions, the chasers, the briefs and the agents are counted in plain numbers, and there is no second bill. The comparison with Fireflies is about the shape of the bill: a price for each person who meets, plus credits for the features that make the notes useful, against one price for the company and the follow-through included.
Fireflies’ own pages disagree with each other on the free storage (per team or per seat), the free summaries (limited or unlimited), the account manager threshold (10 or 20 seats) and the refund rule; both readings are given above with their pages. Prices and limits change; every figure carries the day it was read, and if one has moved, write to hello@castan.ai and it will be corrected with the date of the change.
Questions people ask
Is Fireflies free?
There is a free plan. Since 1 September 2026 a new free account gets three meeting transcriptions by default, unlimited if Auto Join is on; 400 minutes of storage in total; two-hour meetings; 20 AI credits once; and no downloads or video. Accounts opened before that date keep their earlier limits.
How much is Fireflies Pro?
$10 a seat a month billed annually, $18 billed monthly, as read on 13 October 2026. It adds 8,000 minutes of storage a seat, downloads, 720p video, the Personal and Email Assistants, AI Skills, Voice Agents and all integrations, with 20 AI credits included once.
How much is Fireflies Business?
$19 a seat a month billed annually, $29 monthly. Storage is unlimited, meetings can run three hours, and it adds multi-language calls, conversation intelligence, team analytics and priority support, with 30 AI credits included once.
What are Fireflies AI credits and do I need them?
They pay for the features beyond transcription and summaries: AI Skills, the assistants, Voice Agents, CRM autofill, AskFred in live calls. Each plan includes a one-time pool; packs start at $5 a month for 50 credits, and on a paid plan Fireflies auto-upgrades you to the next pack when the credits run out unless you turn that off.
Does Fireflies charge per user?
Yes. Every admin or member of the workspace is a seat, so four people on Business billed annually are $76 a month by our arithmetic, before AI credits. Recap links shared with people outside the team are free.
Can I get a refund from Fireflies?
By the refund policy: within seven days of a monthly plan, in full if you logged three meetings or fewer and prorated otherwise; within seven days of an annual plan, in full if twenty meetings or fewer, and nothing after that. AI credit purchases are not refunded. Cancelling returns the workspace to Free at the end of the cycle and keeps the meetings.
